Overview
As part of the Moretti Gran Tour 2017, in association with Barclaycard BST British Summer Time Hyde Park, we were tasked with constructing the Birra Moretti Bar, a large-scale two-storey event structure designed to transport visitors into an authentic Italian piazza. This immersive experience combined food, drink, and entertainment, creating a standout hospitality space at one of London’s biggest summer festivals.
Our Role
Worldwide Event Structures provided the hire, installation, and dismantling of the bespoke bar structure, ensuring it met both aesthetic and safety requirements while handling the high footfall of festivalgoers.
Key Installations
- Two-Storey Bar Structure: Built using a Layher system, the bar was designed to resemble an Italian street scene, with detailed cladding and an open upper level for premium guest experiences.
- Event Decking & Substructure: A stable foundation was created to support the high-traffic hospitality area, ensuring durability and safety throughout the event.
- Scenic Finishing & Lighting Integration: The structure incorporated decorative elements such as signage, lighting, and branding to enhance the immersive experience.
Challenges & Solutions
- Large-Scale Build in a Busy Event Space: Working within the constraints of Hyde Park during BST, our team coordinated closely with other contractors to ensure seamless delivery.
- Authenticity & Aesthetics: The build had to achieve an authentic Italian look while maintaining structural integrity. We worked with scenic specialists to integrate the themed façade.
- Tight Timeframe: The bar had to be assembled within a limited build schedule, requiring precise planning and execution from our team.
Results
The Birra Moretti Bar became a festival hotspot, drawing thousands of visitors each day with its vibrant atmosphere and traditional Italian design.
